Caption - 9th??
Overview
- Sister course of Bass River Golf Course
- 27 holes: Red, White, Blue courses
- Option to play various combinations: Red/White, White/Blue, Red/Blue. (Note: the Blue Course is links-style.)
- Outstanding logo replicating the masters logo
Pre-Round
- One of the best practice areas among Massachusetts public course: driving range, sand area, huge putting green, chipping green
- Massive putting area with true to course green conditions
Mid-Round (COVID)
- No special pin features to retrieve ball (hole depth slightly modified)
- Check in process was easy and safe with contactless payment in vestibule
- Individual carts allowed
- On-cart GPS
Post-Round
- There’s a small patio overlooking the putting green with food and beverage service
Playability
- Quintessential cape cod, fairway pines
- Course favors the left to right shot shape (lots of dogleg right holes)
- Findability among the pine straw is favorable, although a punch out will be required
- Variety with overall distance/tee selection, plays as long as 7000 yards or 6100 from the whites (middle tees)
- Cart recommended: hard course to walk due to proximity of greens and tees
- Bunkers were inconsistent, some had sand and some were rock hard
- Greens: a touch slow, but true roll
- Very little water - which is probably good - there are plenty of trees and sand to deal with!
Memorable Quirks / Features
- Solid holes but few memorable/different design features
Value
- Above average value: Bayberry can compete with the upper tier of Massachusetts public courses at a reasonable price
- There are different pricing tiers where the price drops at various points in the afternoon
